Mixing Paper with Finer Tableware

Toddler New Year's Party Theme

· Party Ideas

This year I kept my niece and nephew's toddlers for New Year's Eve and let them go to a concert out of town, so I wanted to do something special for them. I have a lovely set of peacock dishes, and love those colors, so I wound up mixing some paper plates and napkins from the store with special glasses inherited from my mother and modern gold flatware.

Of course, no party for my littles would be complete without some darling party animals. They just delight me more than I can explain, and since I had my baker do cupcakes instead of a cake, I used colored glass cake plates I happen to have in coordinating colors and just put them on top.

To add a little 2023 flair, I added a cake topper to a silver tree I had used at Christmas and then added a peacock for some tabletop decor. Poms fluffed to resemble cabbage leaves and confetti completed the table.

I really love how it all turned out. Using things you have with disposables and party decor can bring things all together, when you are hosting a party at home and it's not a problem to use your real tableware. The mint and turquoise plates and napkins can be found in the store, along with other fun party supplies. Happy New Year!
